Asking the Right Questions Puts You Back in Charge

Anyone who has ever felt compelled to chase clients, "close" sales or curry favor with anyone, understands. I've been there and it certainly didn't work for me.

For years I obsessed about the "best" way to approach everything I was trying to do in business. Getting the right autoresponder, the right WordPress theme, the right camera, the right copy.

And that usually came down to who ELSE was using it. Then I would more often than not learn that it was a case of the blind leading the blind.

It was confusing popularity for authority. Popularity is easy to spot. Authority? Not so much.

I wish someone had created a webcast like this back then. One that focused on what I needed to find within myself and then take to market. But they didn't. So I had to do it myself.

Today sales are not the slog they used to be. In fact, I don't sell anymore in the traditional sense. This blog demonstrates what it needs to and people sell themselves over time.

It may sound simple, but the difference in approach is not. It's also not an overnight thing. It takes awareness. Then it takes practice. Most people don't want anything to do with either of those. They just want the "results". Now.

But looking for answers "out there" to questions that can only be answered "in here" is a long, depressing and ultimately fruitless quest.

This quest usually manifests in the search for "the ultimate tactic", and there are countless places to find those.

Another "must" in expressing authority is the willingness to persist. Eventually you realize that the goal is in the everyday activities. In my case it's creating these episodes every week and sharing them with you.

Then all of a sudden there is a result. Even the monetary results we really want are already there. All we have to do is get out of our own way, just this once. Then again. And again. Until it becomes a new habit.

And then when they call you an overnight success, you just smile and say "Yeah, I'm pretty lucky, aren't I?"

Because along the way you've realized we are all creation beings. Our inner world creates our outer world. It's just that most of the time we either deny this, resist it or try to change it from the outside.

But NONE of that works.
