Sure, things change in video. They change a lot.

Still, it’s fascinating to pay closer attention to those things that remain timeless.

Like music; not necessarily what’s popular from one month to the next, but the whole concept of music in video.

Take this video I posted way back in 2011. I wouldn’t change my advice in it for anything. (Well, maybe I’d change the shirt. You be the judge. 🙂

The point is that the value in being able to choose the right tune is just as, if not even more important than it’s ever been.

The right melody can transform a video; from what to what is up to you. But it does transform.

The question has always been how you do it.

How do you choose from among the thousands of tunes available?

And how do you know you’ve made the right choice?

For these answers and more, just sit back and watch… 🙂

Great advice as usual Steve! In my past presentations from the stage, I used to advise my audiences that when it comes to choosing music: “You’ll know it when you hear it”.

I’ve since adjusted that to: “You’ll know it when you FEEL it!”
      😉

      Great advice, Steve…
Music is so important. Properly used, it even adds punctuation and change-of-pace.
And then….there are those (even braggers of selling $millions of dollars of their stuff over the Internet) who put not more effort into their music than adding a 3-note loop…playing over and over and over …and fighting their narration, recorded with their on-camera mic!

Looped music just drives me crazy; actually it would IF I stayed around to watch much of their video!

You said it, Mel! This is for those who are in markets where quality and image add something to the value proposition.
